Factory Resetting ULX/ULib Installation

This simple guide is designed to assist you with resetting your ULX and ULib installations to factory default.

Why would I want to reset my installation?
By resetting your installation you can clear out any corrupted files you may have that could be causing any number of things. Corrupted data files could cause your permissions or the permissions of users to not load correctly.

How do I reset my installation?
This is very simple.

• Shut down your server.
• go into your Garrysmod/data folder and remove the ULib and ULX folders. (See image below)
• Restart your server.

Upon restarting your server these folders will be recreated with the default settings.

After restarting my server, I am no longer an admin!
This is normal. You have just factory reset your ULib/ULX installation so you will need to re-add yourself as an admin. After giving yourself admin privleges you can then reconfigure your groups and add users as needed.

Have you tried using "ulx resettodefaults" in RCON? (as suggested by someone else in a thread created by you)
After that you will have to re-add yourself to superadmin.

From what I've gathered, you're deleting the addons, not the data.

I want to reset the groups too, how would one do that?

Perform the instructions on the server as described in first post.
If you still have groups after ULX starts, then you have a conflicting admin mod/addon or manually set gmod users.txt file. (ULib imports groups from other locations if they exist)

Yes, if you have other admin mods, they might/would be setting your groups. You would need to reset them as well.

The instructions I posted are for ULX/ULib only.
