Function: ucl.getUserInfoFromID

Returns a table containing the name and group of a player in the UCL table of users if they exist.

Parameters:

id - The SteamID, IP, or UniqueID of the user you wish to check.

function ucl.getUserInfoFromID( id )

ULib.checkArg( 1, "ULib.ucl.addUser", "string", id )
id = id:upper() -- In case of steamid, needs to be upper case

if ucl.users[ id ] then
return ucl.users[ id ]
else
return nil
end

end

you could just pass the steamid through this function:

ULib.ucl.getUserInfoFromID( id )

and it'll return a table with the player's name and group.

You could access the ucl table with the id of the disconnecting player and return the group that way. You'd need to print the ucl table to see how it's constructed. I don't remember off the top of my head.

This is not something that we would add to ULX because it's gamemode dependent. You might have more luck with a community modification. I'll move this topic to Off-Topic and maybe someone will help you out there.

How does your script know whose props are whose?

If you are using some kind of prop protection mod, you'd need to tie that into this. If not, you'll need to track props and entity spawns and assign owners so that you can determine who can pick them up.

Yes, that's just not possible the way source (or really any server - client) handles sending messages from the server to the intended recipients.

Yeah, the server chooses who to send messages to, so if you only send a message to 1 client.. no other client can intercept it.

If you're worried about the server seeing messages sent between 2 clients... well... that's just how it goes..

ServerLog would only log to the Dedicated Console and none of the connected clients.

I can also confirm that this doesn't seem to happen with a fresh/clean install of GMOD and ULX/ULib as well as a clean unmodified version of TTT.





At this point.. I am willing to bet that this is certainly not an issue with ULX.

I can confirm that this does NOT happen with a clean installation of GMOD and ULX/ULib with Sandbox and no other addons.

Here is the standard IT/GMOD help response:

To eliminate the possibility of another conflicting mod, we need you to do the following.

1. Remove ALL mods (Legacy and Workshop) except your gamemode and ULX/ULib.
2. Test the above bug and see if you can reproduce.


If you no longer get the bug, do the following:

1. Add the mods back a couple at a time, until you find out which one is causing the issue.

If the bug still happens with ULX and no other addons:

1. Let us know
2. Provide a copy of your ulx debuginfo
