There should be some form or notification that pops up or makes a sound when somebody comments on something your following.

Megiddo:
If you hit the notify button, it notifies you of new replies. :)

yeah but you need to refresh to get the notification

Megiddo, I could be wrong but I think he means on the site and not an e-mail.
