Best Anti-Cheat?
« on: April 14, 2018, 12:56:12 AM »
I'm getting back into hosting Gmod servers and i did a bit of research and Cake seems to be the best anti-cheat script available.  Is this the case or is there something better out there.  Is there anything that can block files being uploaded/downloaded?

I've used CAKE and it worked against the injection hacks that I tested against it.

As for uploading or downloading.. that's a bit trickier, because these things are only possible via exploits in the source engine. The anti-cheat would have to be coded to specifically target and block these.

I'm using both Cake and SIMPLac atm. I don't know how I feel about the latter as I'm still testing it, but the footprint on the server(s) is minimal, so it's at least worth a shot.
