GMOD_Gaming:
I would like to know if I can edit anything to make the ban system a little better

I have used this system before below

!ban <steamid> <time format eg X Days or X Weeks or X Months> <Reason>

I know ULX has the !banip system but it does not ban in the same format..

if that has been done before can someone point me in the right direction.

thank you

MrPresident:
I'm confused as to what you are asking for.

If you're trying to ban a steamid, you can use

!ulx banid <Steamid> <time> <reason>

and it does accept the a time string.. so like..

!ulx banid "STEAM_0:1:12345" 2h "This is the reason"

can I make the !ban use the <steamid> instead of name and also can I set it to use this format..  x weeks or x months or x weeks or x days etc what file do I need to edit.. thank you.

MrPresident:
No, the banid function does not have a chat command component. You can add it yourself by editing the lua files to add a chat command if that is something you are comfortable doing. You could just change the nil to "!banid"

JamminR:
Though you could add a chat command, workshop subscription doesn't make it easy.
Additionally, you'd have to update ULX files every single time we released an update, unless you made your own addon folder structure for that specific command.
I personally question WHY one would want a chat command for the steamid.
Most of the information an admin would use to grab a steamid is presented in game console log, and often remains on screen much longer than the chat window. Additionally, chat commands are NOT autocomplete, where as when typing "ulx b" in game console, an autocomplete dropdown occurs, allowing you to quickly type/paste the information mostly automatically.
