Thoughts for ULX v2

(1/2) > >>

Megiddo:
Hey, just thought I'd clue all of you in on the development of ULX v2!

So far, it looks like we're going to make a clean seperation between ULX's developer library and ULX in the future version. This means that in order to run ULX v2, you'll have to install the developer library ( code-named ULib ). ULX will function as an addon for ULib in much the same way as current addons work for ULX v1.1

ULib will be heavily documented, so there will be no questions about what a function does or how to use it. You can see our documentation experiment at http://ulyssesmod.net/docs/ . While it's not quite what our dream documentation would look like (we'd love for it to be able to accept user comments and feedback), it's as close as we can get.

Any suggestions for ULX v2 should be taken to the thread made specifically for that purpose... http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,105.0.html

Lastly, please let me know if there are any problems in the current ULX ( v1.11 ) so that I can release any fixes for it in the final version for the 1.* series.

Statements/Questions:

1.) I want my graphics card back, tell ATI to hurry up.

2.) Just don't make it too separated. Nobody wants to download both modules just to get the thing to work.

3.) Front page of that thing looks messy / confusing?

4.) Who else is developing it?

I could make a version that includes both

How so?

I'll let you know if it pans out.

Thats not a good thing :(

The front page should be a nice welcome page with a directory like the wiki, not flashing code up at you as soon as you open it. (That always dissuaded me from wanting to learn the code when I was starting)

I updated the docs to include multiple files, and made it without frames. Let me know what you think!
