STEAM_ID_PENDING admin problem

<< < (2/2)

dude:
I have the same problem. I have a dedicated server. I put everything just like his but I get steam_id_pending. I'm not useing any exploit. I have 2 accounts, 2 computers,  both with HL2 and both working gmods and ULX on the dedicated server one. I read ALL the stickies and the whole forums for help but nothing helps. Someone please help us!

JamminR:
Make sure you have your firewall/and/or router ports open, both directions, for Steam and your servers.
Now, I know you may have done this already on your machine or people wouldn't be able to connect at all, but, I'd open/forward the entire range, not just any a software firewall might have asked about.
From Steam's support "Errors: Secure Connection Failed, No Steam Logon, or A Connection To The VAC Servers Could Not Be Made" - http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=374&p_created=1114462836&p_sid=bLCOPJbi&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD0yNzUmcF9wcm9kcz0mcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1

It sounds like your server isn't talking to Steam to get the ids.
Quick list from the article...

UDP 1200 (used for friends service)
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP 27020 to 27039 inclusive

Hope that helps. Again, make sure all are open, both inbound and outbound.
If you have a router + windows firewall + a thirdparty firewall , that would be a challenge.

Good luck.

Thank you for the helpful post JamminR

I should mention that if anyone has these problems in ULXv2+, add users by steam login instead of steamid.
