A little help with ULX
« on: January 21, 2008, 01:31:45 AM »
hi guys

I dont know why but i can not get ulx to work on my server its not like i have not use it before lol.

Right i download ULX v2.10 & ULib v3.20 and put them in my addons like i did before but know luck.

I read alittle about it and i see you now need the svn download due to gmod update so i have downloaded the svn files
to a ulx folder and in that folder i had

cfg, lua, info, motd, ulx_readme

I have put them in all as they should go in lots of ways like

putting just the one ulx file in addons.

I have taken out the ULX & ULib out of the lua folder and put it in addons.

I have put the cfg files in the cfg files on server and the info ones in garrysmod folder and the others in addons.

I have also read the readme file and put them like this
<garrysmod>/addons/ulx/lua/ULib/modules/ulx_init.lua
<garrysmod>/addons/ulx/lua/ulx/fun.lua
In one folder

Still no luck ulx does not run when you start the server.
I sure its some little thing i have misss lol

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Rich

Edit

I think i going abit mad on this so make it easy i have downloaded the files using svn in to a ulx folder so now what i do with them lol feel like a noob

Delete the ULX and ULib folders you have in your addons.. don't try and mix and match the svn and non svn versions.

Create a folder called ULib.. right click it and go to SVN CHeckout and put in the path fo rthe ULib svn and then enter the password/username
Create a folder called ULX.. right click it and go to SVN Checkout and put in the path for the ULX svn and then enter the username/password.

Once you checkout the SVN versions of BOTH ULX and ULib.. copy those folders directy to your addons folder. (the ULX and ULib folders that we just had you make)

Done.

Though I didn't look that closely, your Ulib URL seems like it should have worked.
Try again after verifying that link. What errors are you getting if not?

(By the way...that link I posted is a sticky at the top of the SVN board you just posted in, aptly called "SVN access info". Hard to miss, eh?)
