GMOD server help

I want to get a gmod server running i have hldsupdatetool and used it to get the gmod files.  I tried to launch the server useing a batch as such.

The command box xlosed and server didnt appear so then i added pause to the end still didnt work so how could i run the server?
Im not going to use mserver it don't like me!

Oh and i dont have a server cfg file that ive been hearing about so info on this would be great.

That should do the trick, just added "start" to the begining.

it didnt appear in server list.
Wait i dont think it downloaded completely darn power outages.

EDIT: Re downloaded and it works.

umm...
I host and it works for all my pcs but noone else can play i think it stuck on lan but i changed it to internet soo...

Couple possibilities:

1: set sv_lan 0
2: Are you behind a firewall, if so which one?
3: Are you behind a router, if so which one?

1. alright ill try
2. Turning off Windows firewall
3. Yes linksys but we haven't had problems with most things.

EDIT sv_lan 0 is set but its lan.

Oh, you need to forward your port through your router, or enable DMZ. I recommend you just forward the ports though.
