What Are They?
« on: July 15, 2008, 12:23:05 PM »
Okay im new and I gather ULX is an Admin managing tool for servers. But what is ULib? I want to use this on my server but haven't got a clue what each is.

ULX, you got right. It's an admin mod.  As for ULib, it's a library extension for gmod that either fixes, adds, or makes existing gmod functions better.

You need ULib for ULX, yes. As Jay said, ULib is a developer library. It won't actually do anything as far as you're concerned, but it's quietly powering ULX. Yes, installation is simply uploading.

Warning: Unhandled usermessage 'ulx_autocomplete'
Warning: Unhandled usermessage 'ulx_map'

Those errors occur usually right after a map change with our current 'released' version.
We have beta code in testing right now that works around the issue causing that.

Megiddo, do we have plans to release the latest anytime soon? I know we haven't made too many changes, but, that one in particular is huge in my opinion.
I've not seen too many complaints/reports from the SVN users (though, I've not checked mantis in weeks)

Okay I managed to add Admins! Just one more question, is there a prop protection anywhere? I saw one in the works that has been discussed for sometime now, ULX is the only Admin managing tool I am using and I hear it doesn't have one in it. So is it possible to get one elsewhere? I don't want players picking other players props etc >.<

There's one called UPS in the releases section of these forums. It works great for me, and was created by Megiddo.

Sorta maybe. I was hoping to get the new UCL out too but I'll look into it.
