MOTD Lag

I currently have a html motd within ulx on my server. When players join the whole experience intense lag for about 20 seconds whilst the motd loads. As soon as it is closed the lag disapears. i was wondering what could cause this as it does not happen all of the time and the problem only occurs when there are more then around 4 people on the server?

ULX's use of motd isn't much more than a Server "opening text" - "send text to player" and then Client "got text" - "open using Source HTML viewer used by Gmod."
Very few problems I could see actually caused by ULX.
  • If the html file is huge, ULX could take a while to send it.
  • If your line is saturated (at 4 players), all other data takes long to send?

Maybe others, but thats all I can think of at the moment.
Now, problems caused by Gmod and it's use of Source HTML viewer...well, that is a whole other ball game.
Incorrect html, odd CSS, dhtml, heck... Source HTML itself is often just flaky.

i will remove stuff that is not needed.

The only other problems we are experiencing is adv duplicator lagging massively

When sending dupes? Or when spawning?

If sending, it uses basically the same transport method ULX does to send the motd text.
Starting to sounds like a line saturation issue if it is during sending or saving to server.

it occurs when the tool is out and when saving,pasting and even ghosting occurs.
