I have just added this to both my server and my own computer. I seem to be having problems with the access. I can't add adverts or gimp sayings because it says that I don't have access to the commands. I am set to the highest rank on my server(my rank is owner that is inherited from superadmin). I also tried this as a superadmin and it says I still don't have access to the commands.

Also, I can't add any players to any other groups besides super admin, admin, user, and owner when using the offline steam ID feature.

Hmm, keep in mind this IS a work in progress-- I've been testing this on my listen server more than on dedicated servers, so there are quite a few problems. ULX usually only adds adverts and gimps from the server.ini file, I wonder if ulx addgimpsay and such are commands only the server can run.. Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into it!

I understand that it is a work in progress. I was just trying to point out some things for improvements in the final version.  :)

I love the offline user adding idea though.  :)

And now for an update! I've been rather busy lately, getting registered for college, partying, etc. And I've just made quite a bit of progress on XGUI! Well, its not really visible progress, I've been working a lot with the background stuff. Hopefully soon I will have the players tab up and running, so you can kick/slay/maul/whatever to everyone-- Here's the basic layout I have:



The space on the right side will be for command-specific controls, such as time/reason of a ban, what HP to set someone, etc. As you can see, I have moved some of the features of the admins tab to here-- you will be able to Assign active players groups, (not visible here, but you can also do private messages, admin messages, csay messages, etc. here), and you can type console commands here. (I spent all day trying to figure out how to get the stupid textentry to work properly parented to a DPanel WITHOUT a DFrame.. seriously, it was a pain!)  I'm planning on removing the admins tab and merging it with this one, however, admins will still be able to manage offline users in the not yet existant 'groups' tab.

Anyways, I need sleep. Keep up the suggestions! I may slow down a bit when school starts, so hopefully I'll be able to finish most of it before then!

Maye, if it is possible, have a section that shows what ULX commands are currently bound to what keys, if any, and also allow easy binding of keys to commands. (Like a dropdown menu with the commands and a box to enter the key)

Unfortunately, this is impossible in Lua now.

Yes, I am aware of this, but since I'm changing how the admin tab functions, It shouldn't be a problem anymore. Just got a looot of work to do on this  ;)

As for binds, yes, garry blocked the bind command from lua, so I can't look up or change any binds. It is possible to scan for when keys are pressed without doing binds-- but its probably a lot of work, however, I'll keep this idea in mind as this becomes more polished  :)

For those of you who are keeping up-to-date with this, I just pushed a new update that keeps sliders from spamming convar changes! yay! However, since Megiddo is changing how UCL behaves, the new update will not work until Megiddo pushes the next ULib SVN version (which should be soon). If you want to use the new XGUI before the update is pushed, do the following:

EDIT: Never mind, theres more stuff than I thought that needed to be changed haha, just wait till Megiddo updates sometime tomorrow hopefully

Once the ULib update is out though, you will need to revoke these changes.
