Random Server Crashes

<< < (2/3) > >>

Megiddo:
3.40 is stable because it's the stable version. Don't say we didn't warn you!

JamminR:
I'm actually wary of Wire mod myself.
I love it's capabilities, but I believe it to have many tool authors with very little oversight.
Don't quote me on that, I've not researched. I do remember one NON wire team release made for Wire causing problems with ULX. The release was just poorly written. WireMod Extras or something like that.
With our team, Megiddo is very particular about what gets added and even more so how.
For some groups I could see that being an issue.. for ours it works out well. We bounce ideas off each other...find good solid middle grounds.

Though I doubt the server will crash any less for you using 3.4, at least that version does have it's server.ini settings working.
(forceddownloads doesn't, if I remember correctly though)

Buggzie:
Degraded to ULX 3.40 & ULIB 2.30 Now my server is so stable
I uped the FPS max to 3000 now im getting 600 - 700 fps avarage
Uped the tickrate to 66
Removed drug mod
Re-edited Nuke Pack to fix bugs etc

Now my server is running the smoothest its ever been since i bought it

Spammed 700 Massive Containers to crash the server and failed epicly the server stood like iron man.

DiscoBiscuit:
I too get frequent crashes while using ulx SVN. I guess that's the price of getting the new features before they're out though eh

JamminR:
SVN uses Gmod's datastream features. We've seen reports of it causing issues (delayed response to commands, having to have the same command typed multiple times, etc).
I'm betting it's not so much ULib as it is just datastream being unstable.
We'll research more to make sure of course.
