Cannot get the ULX admin mod working on my server
« on: November 07, 2012, 04:17:38 PM »
Well, I feel like I've tried everything, but I'm sort of hoping there's something stupid I'm missing.  Apparently these are the most up to date files https://github.com/Nayruden/Ulysses  so I took the files and placed them into my servers add-on folder (I have a dedicated server on artofwarcentral, trust me, not my brightest decision).  Anyway, ULX just doesnt seem to even be on my server. No message saying it loaded up, and when any ulx command is typed in console it says unknown command: ulx.  Please, if there is any other info I can give you that would let you help me just let me know.  This has been so very frustrating. Thanks in advance guys.

If you're not seeing ANY Ulib or ULX in your start up screen (SERVER, not client), sounds like ULib is missing or paths are off.
I know nothing of artofwar control panel, however, check following
Make sure artofwar is hosting latest Gmod(13) with all patches. Our Github repo only supports Gmod13.
Make sure server is shut down while adjusting any files.
Make sure, if you've had older ULib and ULX, that you removed them from /addons/ before getting latest from github.
Make sure you have both ulib and ulx in your addons folder. (ULX requires ULib of course)
Start server.
If after all above doesn't help, attach server startup log from startup to "join ready".

I have the same problem, I have used ULX and ULIB many times before and have installed it the normal way and my Garrysmod server isn't loading the addons. I have tried so many things but it is still not working. Server is windows if this helps?

Please help!!!!

    Got it working!

Just so everyone knows the SVN link to github returns a error 404 for me so this is what i did

    • Visit https://github.com/Nayruden/Ulysses
    • At the top click on the ZIP
    • Extract the files
    • Delete existing addon folders and simply upload the new ones
    • Restart server and it worked! How simple aye?

The SVN link must be used by an SVN client and only an SVN client.

Works for me using TortoiseSVN and from command line. Make sure you're copying the URL correctly.
