Rank not saving
« on: August 03, 2013, 08:40:59 PM »
Sorry to hijack this topic, but i actually have the issue of ULX changes not being saved.

I've installed css and gmod through steamcmd on a virtual server running ubuntu linux
This is running on a user (not root) and seems to be working fine.
however....
When making myself superadmin through "rcon adduser zeroZshadow superadmin", i only stay this rank untill the map changes or the server resets
I've set srcds_run into debug mode, but am not getting any message in the console that shown errors or warnings about reading / writing files or other things that could identify the problem.

Im running the ulx and ulib freshly checked out from SVN.
I have tried the release versions from the zip files on the site also.

Any suggestions what i might be doing wrong?
(i have a similar setup on my desktop running windows, using the release ulx and ulib, everything works find there)

EDIT:
Some extra information
In the data folder of garrysmod, the folders "ulib, ulx, ulx_logs" exist
But they are all empty. I dont think they should be? (They arn't on my windows server)

Additionally, does your user that the server runs as have write access to the gmod server's 'data' folder?
(Upon successful startup, indeed, there should be some data files in your gmod/data folder)

Any server console errors at startup?
