XGUI Still working with ULX (TTT)?

Hi guys!

New to TTT, really liked the game mode but not happy with the RDM fest so just wanted to get my own little 8 slots server and make sure I can continue to enjoy the game.

I got ULX working as it was easy to just copy paste the data over to the addons folder, but lack of a proper "setup" guide is now giving me headaches.

Where exactly do I change all the settings with the cvars? Not sure where they're supposed to go?

Then my actual question, does XGUI work with the latest build of ULX and ULIB?

I copied XGUI-Master to my addons folder but it destroyed my server with too many lua errors and dropped my frame rate from 300 to 30.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

XGUI is included with ULX, so the only thing you should need to install are the ULib + ULX folders and put them inside addons.

Can you tell me how to add myself as an admin and where to add the cvars? I am unsure which file I should edit because I can't find a detailed document that explains this to idiots like me

I assume you mean server settings like setting gamemode, hostname etc. Then that's inside server.cfg. Just make a file in Notepad (I recommend using Notepad++), then save as "server.cfg" and place it inside -Garry's Mod server directory-/cfg.

If you have console access, just go on the server, alt-tab and type in the console "ulx adduser yourname superadmin". Replace "yourname" with your name (obviously), a partial of your name works.
You can also try this, by finding your Steam ID: http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,5767.0.html
Then do "ulx adduserid YourSteamID superadmin", replace "YourSteamID" with your Steam ID (should be self-explanatory). Both of these commands (you only need to use one of them) will give you full ULX access. Highest rank of Garry's Mod admin, basically.

If you really feel like adding yourself manually, look into the "users.txt" file which is located here: -Garry's Mod server directory-/data/ulib/.

Ok, I tried the "ulx adduser yourname superadmin". When I open the menu (!menu), I only have basic options there. Screenie in a few seconds

EDIT: Figured it out. No spaces allowed in username.

One more thing:

How do I get rid of all the NON-TTT maps as listed below?

They're not in the maps folder (currently searching the folders via FTP, might take some time)

AND:

Is there a file (like server.cfg) where I can add values to cvars to change the way ULX behaves on the server? Like server messages, autokick rules etc?

Those maps are CSS + TF2 maps. They are loaded by default on the server since you probably have TF2 + CSS content mounted. You should check your votemap section of XGUI/ULX to make sure those aren't included there.

About those cvars, if you look into the -GMod server directory-/data/ folder, you will see ulib and ulx, look into those and you should see some .txt files to help you with some settings.
I'm also pretty sure you can check the XGUI (again) for most of those settings. And that will probably be better.

I did find some settings in the UI, but there's quite a few that arent there. Like end of round voting and so on. I'll mess around with the settings. Many tahnks again for your help!

Indeed, XGUI is now integrated into ULX. No need to do additional downloads or checkouts.

By default, your server (and ULX) will include maps that are included with other mounted gamemode packages, these may not be part of the servers map folder, but included with Steam packages.
Though you can edit out maps shown to the 'votemap' command, I'm not so sure we include a way to show maps only for one gamemode for those with "ulx map" access like your example.
We're Ulysses, we try to admin everything, not just one gamemode. :)

As for various ULX settings, XGUI controls all the settings we offer in text files.
That being said, if you like text like I do, first check out your server/data/ulx folder for config.txt, and several other *.txt files.
Additionally, if not in your server/data/ulx folder you may copy some other special *.txt setting files from /gmod/addons/ulx/data/ulx/ to your gmod/data/ulx folder, then edit there.

You could always be nice and direct them to the FAQs for questions already answered :P
After 5+ years here, you'll understand...typing out how to add oneself, get's quite tiring.
Hence why 'having trouble with access?' is one of our most viewed topics. :)

Which reminds me, Megiddo or Stickly Man need to update the player groups link in ulx_readme.txt to match step 2 of that FAQ. :)
