Custom Decal Placement
« on: January 05, 2014, 06:50:25 PM »
It all started with this post... http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,6853.0.html

Because of that post I set out to make a tool that would make it easy for people to place custom "decals" on their server to put things such as their clans logo.

This has an easy to use menu, and its pretty straight forward...

How To Use
  • Locate the entity under the Editors section.
  • Spawn the entity.
  • Position the entity.
  • Press use on the entity.
  • Enter an image URL.
  • Press the "Set URL" button.
  • Wait until the entity turns blue.
  • Press the "Apply" button.
  • Close the menu.
  • Position the image as you like.
  • Press use on the entity.
  • Press the save button, and your done!

Please note that this is an alpha and more features such as re-sizing, making the image rotate, and making the image call a hook event when people pass through it.

(Don't yell at me its only an alpha :()

No replies. = No updates.

I believe that only forum members may download the attached file.

Thank you so much! I got some problems tho.

I have spawned the enity using ulx ent. While doing that I got "ERROR: Trying to derive entity sent_cdp from non existant entity base_gmodentity".

Ignoring the error I was able to put the image address and the enity turned blue, however I had no apply nor save button. Maybe it is a resolution thing.

Additional another person managed to save it using default img presented in the addon, however it did not appear on the wall, but after server restarting it appeared on the other map where it was never spawned.

You are supposed to create them in Sandbox then when they are made you can restart your server with your gamemode of choice and they should work. The issue with the maps is my bad because I forgot to add a map check, that would be fixed shortly.

Currently I am working on some thing else (getting into the class I want in my local school), so I will resume development on this once I get the results if I got in or not. So no this is not dropped just letting every one know.

Yeah, I already have the updated code... I just need to upload it. Will upload later today. :)

The placement of objects is allot better now as well... Still having problems with rotation/fliping though if any one wants to help...

Just reminding about the updated code.  ::)

It would be very useful even without rotation.
