How to update ULX (ULX beginner here!) and get the SVN?

Hello there!

1. I have ULX installed on my server now, and every time i make a ban it says ''moderator/administrators name banned (CONSOLE)'' and i can't seem to find a proper guide how to update ULX... it may be simpler than i would imagined BUT i can't take another restore(the restore i did just recent was to clean up after a man calling himself ''coder'' did some changes on the server). So i would be glad to get a guide 
It MAY have been posted before but... i can't find any...

2. The servers built-in software has a option where you can download mods to your server (including ULX). And once we went on that but we got the SVN... and is there any needs to have this? Why should i consider get this? An explain would make it's place

Hello,
grab the latest release from the SVN/Github repo and upload it into your garrysmod/addons folder, so the old folder gets overwritten.

Your data is saved in garrysmod/data/ulib and garrysmod/data/ulx.

So i shall delete the old ulib and ulx and install these?

If someone could tell me if i need to backup the modules inside the folders it would be nice.

Keep your gmod\data\ulib and data\ulx in tact.
You can remove then reinstall addons\ulib and addons\ulx
