Ranks Not Saving
« on: November 15, 2014, 05:40:41 PM »
Tried a Google search, but the only posts I saw were about DarkRP and did not have any solution commented.

Anyways, I am unsure about when this started, but I feel like it started since I changed the drive that my server is on. Since then, whenever someone is given a new rank and the server goes down for whatever reason then back up, they go back to what they had before. I feel like this is a result of Ulib not actually writing the info in the correct location; perhaps it is trying to write the info in the old drive's location? Except going to the old location, nothing is there (since I deleted it all).

My server runs ZS and I did not add anything around the time this started. The only plugins I had were Pointshop, ULX Giveweapon, and the group joining plugin.
Like I said, this started happening when the server's location was switched to a new drive.

Help is greatly appreciated!

Make sure your server has write access to it's /data/Ulib and /data/ulx folders.
ULX groups (Ulib actually, though controlled through ULX) are stored in /data/ULib
I could potentially see, if all you did was a copy from old drive and restore to new, the permissions getting set as write by (what it thinks is) old user only.
There may also be some addon conflict, or the gamemode itself. I know you say you didn't add anything, but sometimes, the order you do things/add things in Gmod on an old system, for whatever reason, isn't always the same when you copy exact same stuff to a new.
If you try just Sandbox, ULib, and ULX, no other addons, add a user to some group...restart server (with no crash), does it work then?

It turns out the new drive did not allow writing capabilities to a lot of things, so I enabled that. Not sure why I did not think of it before. I will report soon whether or not this worked.
