Changes not saving

I am having an issue where if someone is moved into a different rank or banned it does not save and after a reboot there back as user or unbanned

Off the top of my head it sounds like maybe your server doesn't have write permissions to the data directory.
Unless someone else has seen this particular bug.

When you write someone to a new group, it should save the users.txt file right then and there. The only other thing that could cause this are corrupt user files.



Try the following:
Browse to your garrysmod/data/folder and rename your users.txt file to users(backup).txt and your bans.txt to bans(backup).txt.
Restart your gmod server and it will generate new copies of these files.
Try adding someone to a group and restarting your server to see if the changes stay.

I Have This Issue On My Server. I Promote Someone Reboot The Server Then Their User
Or If I Log Backon The Server A User Gets Added To A Rank With No Trace Of It In The Consle

Can confirm this issue as well. If i rank some one up to member from user it and the map changes they are back to user again. (rank written in all lowercase) .

When a user joins after the map change or server reboot the messages in chat is "{user} removed all access rights from {user}" (the user is in this case the same name)
ULX version: V3.62 Ulib version: V2.52
 

(I can not confirm this with bans since I use sourcebans and the ulx sourcebans module)
