Is there a way i can set multiple groups for a single player? (similar to how forum ranks work)  for example i have admins who are donaters but dont get donation perks

i would like to do away with vip-mod and have the ability to add one user to both the vip group and the mod group

No.
The only way would be to create a totally separate non-inheriting group with each access you want to give that group individually.
That being said, your description is confusing.
Why do you have donator admins if they don't get donator perks.

Also, forums, at least this one, doesn't have separate group access either.
Though there are 'titles' that various people earn, this doesn't change the group permissions they have.

Perhaps you could find a title/tag, or even team name if playing on a non-gamemode(Sandbox) server, addon that you could rename some of your titles for players.

No, the easiest/best way to do what you're describing is what you've already done, but it's only one group per user.
