Just saying, you guys should fix the search function so people don't have to do the whole "site:ulyssesmod.net" thing on google.

Megiddo hasn't had time to look into it. We're probably going to need to do a clean install of the forum software because it's not a bug in the forum or any of our plugins. I tested that. We think it's something bugged in our installation but.. you know.. real life happens and we just haven't had the chance to get around to it.

In the installation? That means search has been bugged for all 10 years of this forum's existence? Oh, wow... But for me it just says that I am not allowed to search posts, so I am not sure if it's actually broken, or just an error in permissions or something. OR it doesn't allow me to search posts because I'm a newbie on the forum. But I have no idea, really.

Not necessarily 10 years.
We've done many incremental version updates since the first version installed using SMF's web updater from it's control panel.
We've little idea when it broke.

Edit - And just to be clear, It's not a permissions change we did.
We've unchecked/disabled simple search. - Apparently, SMF doesn't remove it from even being seen.
That in and of itself might be one of the bugs with it.
