If anyone was wondering, there was no particular reasoning for the limits or the titles. I think they were mostly the defaults given by SMF. I find the visual of the number of bars the most helpful piece of it -- generally if you have more posts, you are more knowledgeable about what you're talking about. There are exceptions though. :)
