Howdy y'all!
We made a rather major upgrade to our forums and changed to the new default theme. Please let us know if you experience any problems with the new software!
-
I take it you went from 1.1 to 2.0 RC2?
And the only problem I see is that your all signatures are off on the right of the screen, not directly below their respective posts.
-
Signatures look fine to me, AIDS. The upgrade was from SMF 2 RC1 to RC2.
-
everything seems to be working perfectly fine to me at first glance. Though I don't know know I feel about this flashy theme yet... I guess change is good though.
-
Really? Signatures aren't skewed for you guys?
Attached is a screenshot of what I see.
-
What browser and version Aids?
Mine look fine to me. Firefox v3
-
Try holding shift and clicking on refresh, aids... just out of curiosity.

Chrome, newest version I think.
@Megiddo, nothing changed.
-
Hmm, I'd bet it's Chrome.
Either
1) Just not rendering right or 2) Rendering perfectly, but Firefox/IE are so used to html hacks they show what's expected, not what actually should be.
(Or 3, combos of both!)

Wooow, it looks really funky on my phone.. Some posts look fine (top one in screenshot), and random posts have the messed up sig, plus the text of the post is reaally small...
The palm pre runs webkit, as does chrome, safari, etc.. Maybe that's what's causing it?
Browser info:
Mozilla/5.0 (webOS/1.3.1; U; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.27.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/1.0 Safari/525.27.1 Pre/1.0
-
Yah, it's definitely webkit, it's messed up in Safari too. Hopefully they'll push a fix on the double. :)
EDIT: Actually, just made some changes to the CSS. Tell me if that fixes it for y'all. Might need to shift-click on the refresh button.
-
Yup, just looked, works fine now ;D

Option 3! Option 3!

Woah. Cool. Just realized the new RC has an 'insert quote' feature below the reply box area.
Niiice.

Ooo shiny!
-
And the forums have now been updated to RC3. Let me know if you have any issues with this version.
-
Yeah, got the email about RC3 today. Had any issues with it so far? I'm considering upgrading my community's forum from RC2.
-
Nope, seems to be running nice and stable so far. I backed up the database and files before the upgrade just in case, which I highly recommend you do as well, though.
-
Though it may have something to do with my forum theme, if I go to edit my profile and attempt to select an avatar from image gallery, I get no choices.
The reason I started looking through my profile is that RC1 had several bugs there.
Not trying to change my 'jammin' avatar...just found I couldn't.
Can't get my IE6 to change any profile setting. Another PC with IE8 isn't having any issue.
edit - [Wait! - Did I use an avatar here, could have sworn I was using Bob Marley (we be JAMMIN)]
-
I don't have any avatars in the gallery, and you haven't had an avatar here in a long time. :P
IE6? Honestly can't say I worry if it has issues with IE6. I realize 20% of the internet is still using it, but hopefully our community has a little more skewed statistics than that...

Do these forums not track users by browser? I know some PHP based forums will give statistics on numbers of users and what types of browsers they are using to view to page.

Don't think it tracks that, but we use Google Analytics to see that anyways. :)

dont bother upgrading to RC3, it broke every single mod
