i remember that in Counter-strike was a plugin for admin mod that allowed admins to open cd rom to players.
possible in gmod?
-
you'd have to have a custom .dll file. But why would this be even remotely useful for ULX?

zakap, not only your question, but, why was it useful in CounterStrike?

Sounds like an adminge tool to me... I LIKE IT. j/k
I'd be *peeeeed* if some yanky admin did this to me while I was playing on a server.

Your cd-rom drive can be used a cup holder.
Wouldn't VAC pick up on something like this though? Allowing remote execution of windows? Or would windows just BSOD?
-
No, it would be possible. I've written api calls in VB to do this. It was for a less malevolent purpose I'm sure though. With a custom .dll file that gives lua the ability to make such calls, this would be very possible. I don't think VAC works that way also. VAC was designed to detect remote calls on the game or w/e I'm sure it cares less what the game tries to do to Windows =)

Such a dll would need to be installed on the CLIENT computer. Regardless of feasablility, Ulysses Team will NEVER make such a module.
