On my server (dedicated) the MOTD is broken, as in it doesn't show up at all. When you join, do !motd, or from !menu, it just doesn't show up.
Halp? ???
-
assuming this is even a problem and not simply user error. This could be caused by many things. You'll need to provide some more info or no one will be able to help you.
Also. it's HELP not HALP.
-
Release or SVN version? (information which should have been provided in the OP).
If it's Release, then it won't work because garry removed the motdfile cvar.
-
I don't know, I just downloaded the one from the home page or whatever.
-
You didn't read the FAQs before posting your question (http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,3174.0.html), [FAQ #1]
and you didn't (http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,3233.0.html)[motd 1]
use the search feature (http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,3283.0.html) [motd 2]
mentioned in the FAQs. (http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,3364.0.html) [motd 3]

So am I just supposed to download the mantis thing?
I don't understand.
-
Mantis is our bug tracker. So, no, you don't download Mantis.
SVN is where developers keep/code/corroborate on the latest pre-release code.
You have access to SVN, but, it sounds as though you might want to wait for the next release.
I don't know when that will be.
(And, even though it's in _our_ bug tracker, we wish to make clear, Garry broke our MOTD not working, we just found a way around it)
-
motd is still broken even in the svn, infact the adminmenu no longer works either...
any news?
-
Works for us (at least the motd, haven't tested admin menu in a while).
-
the admin menu comes up blank, as in nothing in it, just a small box with a x in it
-

I use ulx 3.31 and Ulib 2.21
-
Hmm, that's interesting, a non-standard tf2 motd. Just stick the motd.txt in your garrysmod root.
-
Garrysmod Root? can you explain what you mean?
-
Nevermind, i found out, thank you very much ;D
-
Ok, where does the html code go for the motd? Garry breaking everything including my harpoon...
-
Goes into <garrysmod root>/motd.txt
