Few days ago it was like 995 members and now 1008 :-)

Depends on the counting method :P

One way is forever going up, one is based off how many users actually exist (they get deleted after a while after not confirming).

ah, but in the second counting method, there is really no true 1000th member, only a total count of current members. Member #1000 would be the member with user ID number 1000.
