I installed ulib and ulx on my server just as the faq section and the readme says to, and when i start my server, the error "ulib_cl_ready is an unknown command" pops up. then no ulx commands work. Any ideas? sorry if this has been answered but i looked and it wasnt there anywhere

ok now it seems none of my addons are working... did the engine update screw up the system for adding addons? cuz i did this on my old server and it worked fine.

Strange, did your addons work before you installed ulx, and if so what addons do you currently have installed. Also did you just install ULX or did you get ULib with it too?

When you say 'engine update'.... which engine do you mean?
The last actual engine update went from Gmod9 to, technically named, Gmod10, aka Orangebox engine. (I think Garry is now at Gmod11)
If that's what you mean, no, there are no addons written for Gmod9 that will work with the 'new' now almost a year old engine.

I meant the latest enging update. the new source engine so orangebox one i guess. I didnt try the addons before ulx, ive got stuff like phx wire and some good tools stuff like that. i have ulx and ulib.

I know the addons are functional becuase i copied them from my steam directory on my computer. so its not the addons, its serverside as far as i can tell.

Ok, you've lost me.
Did you _just_ buy Gmod for $10 (perhaps with another package/game for more)?
The 'new' Gmod using the new engine costs money.
If you _just_ bought the game and are trying to run old non-cost Gmod addons, then no, they won't work
Wire was written for Gmod10+
What versions of ULX and ULib do you have.
Look at the server gmod/addons/ULib/Info.txt and gmod/addons/ULX/info.txt and tell us.

I have the gmod that is running the orangebox engine. the new source engine. I have the ulx and ulib versions that are on the main site becuase i downloaded them a few hours ago.

Did you do a full server restart of just a map change after installing ulx?

Well, I'm lost.
Is your server rented, or did you install it on your comp?
If it's on your comp, what method did you use to install it?

Have you tried removing ulx and ulib then restarting the server to see if your other addons work again?

i dont know if they were working before... i just got this server so im not sure if it ever worked right

You could try submitting a support ticket to your provider.
