Title: What do you think of the new forum theme?

Hey everyone, just thought I'd get your input about the new forums.

Personally, I loved it at first... but now I'm finding it's not as easy to use as the old one. Anyone else other thoughts?

For overall reading, I prefer the old.
I find it easier to use when user information is to the left of the post, and the messages don't have such a large block in between.

Though, I love the new 'Tree' at the top of each block of posts or index showing which forum I'm in. I know the old one showed same info, but not in a tree view.

As for colors, well, I don't use them. I viewed the old and the new using another browser I have set to use default browsing colors, and I can't really decide which I like better.

How much work would be involved in using the new menus/headers up to the point of the posts, below the tree line, then using old style for actual message/posts area?

Well, there's an option to do just that in the admin section... it works for this theme but not the other. :(

Regarding the one you just posted above (new #2), I like its message spacing better. Not limited to a smaller portion of my screen.
I think its menu headers at top of every page are fine (better than old, about same as new #1)

As for all of its buttons, I'm picky about images/themes, but that is my personal preference due to vision impairments that I have.
If I had to pick among all three, old, new #1 (current), and new #2, I'd pick new #2.

Of course, thats just my opinion, and opinions are like butts, most don't want to hear it. ;)

The header on "new #2" can be minimized with the up arrow button on the bottom left. I may just go with that theme... forgot I even had it :P

Isn't that the default SMF theme?  It's the most simple though, I guess that'd be expected as it is Simple Machines Forums.  :P

Anyway, I prefer the overall looks of this theme, but I much prefer the simplicity of the old one.  Striving for Simplicity and all that.
