Title: Cant change gamemode!
Post by: drake90001 on August 17, 2010, 07:02:35 AM
I have the newest version of Ulib and ULX, and I have these plugins: UTeam, URestrict, UTime, Player Title II, UnoLimited, and USP.
I previously had, xgui, and removed it because of this problem. When I try to change it, it changes the map and everything, then when I spawn, its still on sandbox.

Can you give us exact steps on what you're doing? What command or menu are you using, etc...

!menu
I click on "Maps"
I chose the gamemode at the bottom
Then I chose the map
The server switchs map, but not gamemode.

EDIT: Im uploading a video of my steps. Also, the command I used to make it start on DarkRP is, +sv_defaultgamemode "DarkRP".

Edit 2: <censor> fraps and making 2gb files..

Garry changed the command used to change gamemodes, sorry about that. Updated in ULX rev 136.

Its cool guys, thanks for helping so quickly. I THINK I have all the bugs out of my server. Except for not being able to pick up weapons in DarkRP, but thats DarkRP's fault. And Yes I have counterstrike installed right.

Can I join in? I mean, what's the point in changing a command? Maybe I should change "ulx slay" to "ulx smite"... I think smite sounds cooler!

I like the idea.. Better: Ability to change commands name. Like "!ghost *" To, "!admin" Or "!Invisable" Or something crazy like "!wouldntyouliketoknow".

Sure, random revision command names. One of us devs change it one revision, then we release, another dev changes commands next revision, then release again.
Rinse! Repeat.
Have the end users so mixed up they won't know what to type!

I think he was referring to an end-user change.

such as me being able to change !cloak to !kapoof on my server while not affecting anyone else. I wouldn't mind aliasing, personally.

Actually, we were referring to Garry's change of a command name. Server side, nothing to do with the user end.
It's why ulx's gamemode map change command broke.
We then started joking about changing ulx command names from revision to revision, and, well, it just went downhill from there.

However, your interpretation of the mention of command names actually does bring up an interesting idea.
Not sure it needs to be included in ulx by default, but I see no reason a module couldn't be made for conversion of normal commands.
