Title: Rcon/console immunity?
Post by: pwncheif on September 15, 2010, 12:35:35 AM
I have myself set as immune to everyone but some of my staff have figured out that they can use ulx rcon to run ulx functions on me.  I don't want to revoke their access to ulx rcon because we all know how useful that can be. What i want to know is, is it possible to set immunity to console commands?

No, by design the server console is not limited in any way. If you aren't willing to revoke rcon access, you could try banning anyone who goes around the restrictions in this way. If you make it clear that you don't like it, your admins ought to straighten out.

Which rcon commands in particular do you want your admins to have access to?

One option would be to revoke their RCON access, then make a custom simple lua script and make a separate console command they can use that will only allow through certain RCON commands (or one that will allow anything BUT ULX commands through)

I still think your best bet is to just revoke their access entirely and not worry about it. From what I can think of, most of the stuff admins need to manage a server is done completely through ULX.

Agreed. RCON gives access I'd not trust to most.
All it would take is a raging admin to bring down an entire server, long term while host determined what was done.
