Post by: JamminR on December 23, 2011, 07:45:58 PM
Hi all.
I prob won't be online, at least, at the forums, for the next few days. Going to visit inlaws in central Florida.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Merry Christmas.

Well, I had the busiest Christmas ever. But, I wish everyone a belated Christmas!

At least I'm on time to wish y'all a good new year!

Funny conversation from my break. I was in my garage putting bags in the trunk of the car when two kids came by on the sidewalk both riding new scooters. One was a boy probably about 10, the other a girl probably about 7.
The boy: Look at what we got for Christmas! What did you get?
Me: Mostly books. Cool scooters!
The girl: *Excited* Are you a book expert?
Me: Uh... I guess.

Book expert? Interesting new career direction you've taken. :P

I got some nice items. Still haven't celebrated with mother-in-law clan yet. That's this weekend.
Yet to celebrate with my mom or that clan either. Hopefully this weekend. I have a nice gift for her.
So far, received gifts worth mentioning, much of it geek/tech related.

Roku 2 XS (http://www.roku.com)

Amazon gift card
-(which is being combined with some other visa gift cards and wife's amazon gift card to get new home theater receiver that supports HDMI for the Roku, and other devices currently connected through component cables (Roku doesn't support HD component))

Two fun Geek Tshirts -
Schrödinger’s Equation (http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=22798) and
Nevermore (http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=5230)

Cyan Complete Pack (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/4870/) (Thanks to you out there, you know who you are)

BR Movie - The Adjustment Bureau (http://www.theadjustmentbureau.com) - Cool sci-fi romance - (I'm a sucker for underdog fights all odds to get the girl movies - making it sci-fi just pushes it that much closer to the geek coolness core in me)

Cool little aluminum Brookstone LED flashlight "Astro Super Lite" (http://www.brookstone.com/astro-super-lite-mini-light-colors) - already used it while at inlaws to rewire some home theater electronics they wanted done.

@Megiddo hahaha book expert! Kids are awesome.
@JamminR man, you made out like a bandit! Let us know how that Roku is, sounds interesting.

For me, I got a pizza stone/ pizza cutter, pretty stoked on it as I found my new passion: Making pizza for people. haha
Then some essentials like underwear.

My newyears "gift" was a new house. Yup, closed escrow on my first house December 30th! Not sure how much of a gift it is though, seems like a money black hole to me hhahaha
The only gift part about it is I don't have to deal with realtors and endless paperwork anymore :P

It is nice to call a bit of land my own, though.

@MrPresident yikes 16hours! How are things out there?

Whoa that sounds intense. I have enough issues with my home network of 3! I couldn't image 70 systems.  :P

Could I borrow you for a day? Get this darn printer on the network and make it so no one can mess it up even if they tried!  :P
