Title: Advert Error = Kick
Post by: Sirdog9001 on December 15, 2012, 04:33:22 PM
Hello Ulysses Staff,

Whenever I open the advert option in xgui and click 'create' (As it is blank till I touch a button, by blank I mean it doesn't show any adverts exists in the left colum till I click the button) it will give me a error (Which a screenshot is attached) and then disconnect me from the amount of lua errors, am I missing something?

I have checked other topics but failed to find my particular error.

The reason I got one advert to work was when I was adding one and clicked 'Create advert' it created it then kicked me for the errors as mentioned above. Though I do know basic folder structure and etc, please speak as simply as possible ;)

Also another issue I found D:, whenever I go to change the value of anything I am put in the menu (That I attached) and I have to leave and disconnect to get out of it, nor can I change the value.

it has been said by the ULX staff that XGUI is still in beta and is to be used at your own risk, Stickly was too busy with school to fix it but should be on holidays soon so you should start to see it being repaired soon.

If you need to manually edit until XGUI is corrected, see your /data/ulx folder for several configs.
If you don't see any, copy them from /addons/ulx/data/ulx to your /data/ulx/configs folder, then edit only in that folder.
(READ - do NOT edit /addons/ulx/data/ulx files)

For the adverts, yes, just edit the adverts.txt file for now till I have some time to get it fixed. The other errors should now be fixed though!

Also, I would recommend setting the cvar sv_kickerrornum 0 so it no longer kicks you on the first script error, if it happens much too often.

*sigh*
Garry set a variable to kick users on script errors? Even if server sends to them and not other way around (I could see client to server issue kicks being ok).
My my what a wonderful idea.
