Title: Setup but nothing works.
Post by: Nye Trax on April 13, 2013, 12:09:43 PM
So I have ULX installed, it tells me I'm a Superadmin and everything. However every command I try to use, does absolutely nothing.

Are you running darkrp? If so, have you looked into disabling the built in admin mod?

No, I'm not running DarkRP. I'm running a fresh Deathrun. It tells me "Hey "nyetrax" you're a superadmin"... but when I try to do anything even ulx debuginfo in console, it tells me ulx doesn't exist and or is an unknown command.

EDIT -

Okay, so I went back in and fixed everything. However I put myself into a different group trying to rename the Superadmin group. How do I put myself back as a Superadmin? >_<

Sorry, I don't necessarily want to bump and or piss anyone off. However, As I said in my last post I got everything running and I fixed the problem. However due to my stupidity, I went to rename "Superadmin" to "Owner", and it set me to a normal admin. I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it. However it's still telling me I'm just an admin. How can I fix this?

Set yourself as a superadmin from the server console while you're connected.

When most uninstall/re-install, they don't read our FAQ on how to truly uninstall.
Shut down server.
Delete your gmod/data/ulib/groups.txt and users.txt.
Restart server and hope Garry's broken file I/O allows ULX to rebuild the files.
The message you were getting "Hey, you're a superadmin" is GMOD, not ulx, reading from gmod/settings/users.txt.
All we do is read the file.
If you broke that one, you shouldn't have messed with it. Read the gmod wiki about making the file look like it should.
