Title: Banning a person so they can't get unbanned.
Post by: LuaTenshi on August 01, 2013, 10:02:36 AM
Is there a way to ban a person and make it impossible for your admins to unban them? I have heard you can do it by creating a special file but I have no idea how to do that or even where to start looking.

Also when banning some one using ulx I get this error... uniqueid "STEAM_0:1:52577573" not found

Code: [Select]
L 08/01/2013 - 12:17:15: rcon from "127.0.0.1:80": command "ulx banid STEAM_0:1:52577573"
(Console) banned steamid STEAM_0:1:52577573 permanently
ServerLog: [ULX] (Console) banned steamid STEAM_0:1:52577573 permanently
L 08/01/2013 - 12:17:15: [ULX] (Console) banned steamid STEAM_0:1:52577573 permanently
uniqueid "STEAM_0:1:52577573" not found
Writing cfg/banned_user.cfg.

I don't know about the unbanning thing, but what I think the other "error" is, is that the person isn't currently banned/haven't been banned earlier. Therefore their Steam ID doesn't exist in the banned_user.cfg. I believe that only shows up for first-time ban people.

As for your first question... thats easy.

Just don't give the unban privilege to admins. Make SuperAdmins have to do the unbanning.

As for your second question, I cannot answer that.

I would say that.. just don't give the ban tab menu thing to admins, makes it much harder for admins to unban someone, as well as I believe that menu has access to the banned_user.cfg

not sure about the other one, might be an error in the file.
