Title: Death Log
Post by: xLiaMz on November 09, 2013, 09:34:31 AM
Moderators cannot see who dies in the logs even though I have allowed access to "ulx logevents"

Does anyone know the reason why? I can't think of anything that may be causing this.

ULX does not and has, in fact, never echoed death messages to anyone. It does log deaths to the ULX logs folder, though.

We get people asking this question with some regularity, so if this response comes off as practiced... it is. :)

My admins can see the deaths it says "Name" was killed by "Name" using "Item"
Moderators used to be able to but I dont know what happened "ulx logevents" even says that it will echo Deaths etc, I have no idea whats wrong :l

Megiddo, our ulx.logstring function uses ServerLog in it, which, writes to console and file.
We also have a player death hook that calls logstring, and includes the killed by.
Doesn't explain why his moderators can't see it, but, technically, we do indeed now echo deaths to console using ServerLog.

I do not consider server console as a person. :)

So is it not ULX that does it? I was pretty sure it was but guess I could be wrong.

Nope.
Not ULX.
