Title: Help with cfg folder.
Post by: syn. on January 19, 2014, 09:01:12 AM
okay so my server was bugging out a bit because of this HUD i got and it kind of fudged up my server so I decided to clear all of my stuff and start over ( I bought a server from xenonservers.com)
I installed all of the stuff again but my cfg folder was missing. I made it and put in the server.cfg, server.vdf, and mount.cfg. My server appears in my favorites on the Legacy Browser but it shows the name as the server IP and has a latency of 2000. Am i missing something in my cfg or is it somewhere else. If you know what I am missing please help me I'm kind of a noob (I've been hosting for about a month) thanks! -syn (SynGaming)

****ed
Isn't this supposed to be a family-friendly forum..?
Also, I own a server from XNS myself. Their servers have never done that kind of stuff to me... Hmm...
I know that their config files are the same as any old SRCDS server, so I don't know why this is happening unless it has something to do with their new Source performance upgrades.
Just wait for that reply. XNS is great with their support. I usually get replies in under 15 minutes.

XNS FTW! :D

actually, I was wondering if you could send me a screenshot of what's supposed to be in the cfg folder. (I'm quite impatient, sorry) I just want to get the server back up and running in it's previous state so that the members of my community will stop asking me when the server will be up. If you can't or don't want to or are too lazy that's fine I'll just wait like a normal person.;) thanks

That's my current setup.

As far as I know, you shouldn't need anything other than default Gmod cfgs.

Exactly.
XNS' configs are the exact same as any old SRCDS server's.

tried adding config files (still haven't put everything inside of each them) just wanted to add on to my post from earlier with an image. Maybe this is a bit more specific. http://gyazo.com/19597598acb9d9972efcbf299102d06a (http://gyazo.com/19597598acb9d9972efcbf299102d06a)

Hmmm...
How did you clean out your server?
(Ulysses forums weren't letting me post... hmmm...
If I multi-posted, blame SMF.)

I would recommend either a support ticket to reset the node for the server, or perform a complete reinstall.
