Title: Restricted settings, and entities
Post by: Verequies on March 04, 2014, 02:59:32 AM
Hey Guys

I'm setting up a server and I've come across a restrictions problem. I cannot spawn some items from the Stargate addon pack CAP, items like the Destiny Main Weapon unless I'm superadmin. However my rank on the server is Owner. Also the same goes with Falcos Prop Protection I have to be superadmin to change the settings.

If anyone can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Hamish

Owner is NOT a group that gmod recognizes by default and MOST addons that are not ULX will not recognize you as a superadmin. Please read the post I linked you to.

Alright, so I've made some groups, but the teams don't show up when pressing tab, and I require superadmin rights for Owner(Myself), Co-Owner, and Manager. I've moved these people to the superadmin rank and made the teams however I can't set them.

Thanks for your help, I've figured out how to use teams, and to show them on the scoreboard using https://github.com/nexbr/sui-scoreboard.

However is there a way to sort the scoreboard by rank? And also can I have multiple teams per group. For example I have 3 people in super admin, and I'd like 3 teams. Owner, Co-Owner and Manager.

Thanks again

No. You will need to make separate groups. Keep superadmin as your top-most group, but then just create new groups for the other 2 and make them inherit superadmin. You can then assign teams to those groups.

So will those teams have be able to do everything that superadmin can or?

You know what inherit means, right?

When you make a group inherit from another group, it gives that group everything from what it's inheriting from.

Yes. When you make a team inherit from superadmin it will have all the accesses of superadmin. You can use 'ulx groupdeny' to block certain things from those groups if you want, but more importantly those groups will be 'superadmin' in the eyes of other non-ULX scripts.
