Title: Not overwriting the default hook system?
Post by: Your Stalker on April 14, 2014, 10:17:41 PM
Can you please not overwrite the default hook system? This causes a massive bottleneck and is partially the reason I and others are switching to alternatives if things like this aren't addressed.

As far as I know, all it does is add hook priority and read-only hooks which are pretty nice to have, especially if you frequently use intensive hooks.

What do people mean with hook system? I heard about it before they they say ulx has hooks or something but I never understand what it is or why it should be bad. ULX still works more stable and faster for me than other admin mods. It's easy to use and has loads of plugins.

Ugh. Get it out of your head that hooks are causing bottlenecks. If you have proof that the change to the hook library is causing the problem, then post your proof. Read my rant here: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1389029&p=44854980&viewfull=1#post44854980 (http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1389029&p=44854980&viewfull=1#post44854980)

There are certain gamemodes that also use a lot of resources on startup, and when combined with ULX (most likely just XGUI), can cause bottlenecks. It is a difficult problem to address, and we ask for your patience while we work through it.
