Title: Rules regarding recreated work. (Involving artwork/images)
Post by: LuaTenshi on July 05, 2014, 02:25:15 PM
Lets say I found an image that I liked...

And wanted to remake it, with a better quality...

Would I then be allowed to post it to place like my Steam Gallery (Yes, Steam now has a place where people can upload artwork that is unrelated to a Steam game) / Deviant Art/ Website, without having to deal with some company sending me take down requests?

That depends 100% on the original image owners copyright and or trademark method.

I don't know if that is real or just artwork.
If it's only artwork, then it will most likely be licensed under Creative Commons.
But don't make assumptions, I'm only saying it's more likely to be licensed under it.

Yeah I realized that, and posted a ticket on the creators support page. I hope to get a response soon.
