Title: Is there a reason for the search button being disabled for users?

I feel like enabling it will save people time and lead to less posts about already fixed/created issues/addons.

Unfortunately, we have an SMF bug on the forums where all boards are searchable by everyone (we have some boards hidden from public view), and thus it is disabled.

We've tried everything but a forum re-install to fix it, to no avail.
