Title: -= 2016 Elections =-
Post by: Bite That Apple on October 05, 2016, 01:15:59 AM
I'm unaware of the current majority country of this community, just assuming United States. Feel free to apply to this, even if this does not apply to you.

So, to make a long story short, what are your guys' stand point on a candidate? Any idea who you're leaning towards, or idea which candidate is most qualified (lol) to realistically be President.

inb4 topic closed for political arguments

Personally, I lean towards no one.
Clinton... eh. Wrapped up in too much, gives off poor vibes.
Trump, well... Insane, no experience, not really fit to run a country.
Johnson is uninformed on foreign affairs, it seems, which is where a good bit of presidential power resides.
Stein believes WiFi is carcinogenic, so purely based on principle, I can't place as much trust in her, though she does support a lot of the policies I agree with.

I would personally vote for Giant Meteor 2016 if I truly could.

Remember back in August of last year when we could vote for Deez Nuts (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deez_Nuts_(politician))? Can we bring that back?

I didn't get a chance to watch the VP debate, but I thought the Pres debate wasn't good, simply put.

Clinton - lacks connection with the community, and it's hard to relate with her. She's got some history that people should be more concerned of, and there have been various reports of big financial guru's basically running the Clinton's like puppets. We don't need a proxy, if that's what Clinton is trying.

Trump - I can't take him seriously. He incites fear and rage, and I don't understand the support.

Overall, I'm driven by my religious views, and I believe Trump would be the only person, at this time, who could effectively make some changes in Congress/policy that I feel should be changed. So I do no support the Trump platform, but I am supporting some of the ideals the GOP drives forward.

For the curious: same-sex marriage, abortion, human cloning, and euthanasia

Isn't it sad I'd likely prefer voting for any one of my forum and programming team mates having never actually met but one of them in real life versus any of the big party representatives currently available?
Scary world.

Voting Anguish - skit almost too true right now

YouTube phased out Flash, if I recall correctly. Or, if anything, this version of SMF uses an out of date version of their API.
edit: There is this (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3982), which should add proper HTML5(?) YouTube support to SMF via embed links.
edit 2: Correction: it uses iframes, which lets YouTube decide what to serve.

Do you vote for the traitor or the clown?

Personally, as a civil servant, I can't possibly vote for someone so negligent (and, from the facts of the matter, criminal). Doesn't mean I'm happy about anyone else on the ballot though.

Personally, I'd rather have Ronald McDonald's as President, The Hamburglar as Vice President, and that scary, dull giant purple Grimace as Department of Defense Secretary.

Post Edit:
Actually, in my free time I made this
