Help with ULX reserved slots
« on: September 25, 2012, 02:20:33 PM »
Hey guys, I've been using ULX for a while on my server(s) and have only recently came upon an issue I am unable to resolve. It's more of a question than an issue, however it still falls under the help & support category. Anyway, the issue is with reserved slots for admins - for some reason, a person who is of the 'senior admin' usergroup cannot join the server if it is full (16/18; 2 slots are always reserved for admins). I am unsure how ULX detects admins, but I wanted to know whether I am able to somehow modify it to support custom usergroups (if it works by using usergroups). Basically, I want the slots reserved for 'admin', 'senior admin' and 'director' usergroups. Is that possible or does it work in some other way? If so, please explain how it works and what I can do to solve this issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Did you give your senior admins the reserved slot permission, or at least, inherit a group that has it?
See http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,3784.msg13078.html#msg13078
Though it discusses the operator group, it would apply to any group.
Since you seem to be using a space in a group name, make sure to place quotes around the group name when specifying in the command.

Additionally, if you have rslotsvisible set to 0 in the configs (1 is default), any admin wanting to 'use' a reserved slot MUST use "connect <server ip:port>" to connect to a server if it appears as full in the game listing.

Thanks for the help, I think that solved the issue. Previously I thought that ulx reservedslots was a command which allowed people to change the settings of the reserved slots...
Well, wouldn't think the solution would be so simple. Thanks for the help once again!
