XGUI "not on server"

i posted this on the XGUI thread itself and realized someone over here might have my answer

I'm not on a computer that i can give you the lua errors but when i join my server (ran by xenon servers) and i attempt to open the xgui menu there is a little please wait window"something here (5 seconds)

Then it proceeds to say that xgui is not installed on the server
i click OK and it brings up a xgui menu without the commands tab and the groups tab is non functional along with a number of other features

sometimes the commands tab is there and functional but i have to reconnect 6-7 times (group tab and "gimps/adverts" settings still dont work)
(happends on multiple computers also)

I don't know if there are any known conflicts with any of the addons i have running

also i just noticed the grenades in css weaps seems to have been glitched since installing this

In many other posts I found searching our forum using the search tool from the front page of our forum, it is often an incorrect users.txt file.
Please attach yours to your next post.
Also, while connected to your server, from the server console, run "ulx debuginfo", and attach the file it creates too.

i personally dont see anything wrong alittle bit of left over code from past permissions i guess but other then that i dont see anything wrong
(i deleted the xgui folder and set its name to its default // no effect
i updated all of my svn addons (ended up doing a overwrite install of ulx // no effect) )

only every once in awhile does the xgui authenticate me but i still dont have access to the groups menu

You don't seem to have any groups set for the two users who are authenticated in your dump... is that what it should be like?

yes i only gave those two very specific commands they could use.  (only two i have grown to simi trust so far)

With Xenon Servers, I don't think that they have the latest ULX/ULIB SVN versions on their site with their automatic installer (I think that's what they call it). A friend I was helping mentioned that they said something about needing to update it, so I'm 90% positive your SVN ULX and ULIB are out of date.

You should go HERE and download the latest SVN versions, then manually upload them to your server, then post back if you still have issues.

that was it.... i deleted the ulx and ulib folders from my addons and replaced them with the ones i downloaded from the svn....
i thought it was kinda off that the ulib had not been updated in so long XD (look at pic for last change date on right)

Would you mind contacting Xenon Servers about this problem, kulcris? If it's an issue for you it's probably an issue for other people... and we hate it when ULX and ULib aren't working correctly for people.

Your version of ULX and ULIB are out of date and have been for some time now. please update these regularly so that there will be less conflicting addons. (causing crashes/ aspects of addons not working)

i spent 3 days trying to figure out what was wrong with an extension of ulx and the problem was your svn version is out of date.

We will setting it up to update soon. SVN has been out of date since we moved our file server.

Wait, wut? They 'download' our SVN and store it on their servers, then offer it as SVN?
Ouch. Wonder how many other hosting companies that offer "SVN" access do that, and get us blamed for issues on the hosts end.

Thank You!!!  I'd just spent the last two days trying to figure out this problem on my server. Which funnily enough is hosted by....... Xenon Servers!!   

I can report that they haven't yet updated it.. so yeah don't know whats going on there. but i guess i know what to do now.. thanks!

Just out of interest where should i be looking to remove ulx and ulib? Are they all in addons or are they placed in other areas as well?

Either the ulx or Ulib readme files (even part of old svns) include 'removal' instructions, but yes, they are in addons.
There are also data/ULib and ulx folders, but if you've been using an SVN from a few revisions since 2009, shouldn't need to remove the data folders.
Always can, but you'll lose any custom group settings.
