Help with Dedicated Server
« on: November 16, 2007, 11:19:43 PM »
Does anybody have a video of how to get dedicated server working. I need it to add administrators to my server. Can anyone offer some help?

Do you need help getting a dedicated server running? or getting administrators put on it?

if it's the admin part..

type

ulx adduser <name> superadmin

into your dedicated server console. That is the easiest way to do it.

If you need help getting your server running.. I suggest you find help elsewhere.. I don't think anyone here will help you with that.. I could be wrong though! =)

Kevin,
The way zakap describes is for ULX and will work.
Regarding dedicated server, AND how to get superadmins added, even when NOT using ULX, read the /addons/ULX/ulx_readme.txt
It has a link in it that points to Garry's mod Wiki on dedicated servers, and how to add admins.
It should answer most of your questions regarding both dedicated server and adding admins.
The method described in it will add admins for most other mods too, not just ULX.
ULX imports from that method described.

Zakap,
If I've not said it enough, thanks.

it's my pleasure!!

Also, I assumed he was using ULX considering he was here.. lol. IF you are using ULX Kevin, the method I explained in my first post is the easiest way to do it in my opinion. Using the ULX command allows you to change access at a later time easily without having to modify files.
