GMOD Update Released
« on: January 15, 2008, 06:06:39 PM »

[-]January 15, 2008 - Garry's Mod Update Released

Updates to Garry's Mod have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Garry's Mod

Switched to use the Orange Box Engine

Added support for Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2: Episode Two and Portal

Updated Spawnmenu

Updated gm_construct

New loading screen

New 'Start Game' menus

Lamps now cast shadows (if supported by hardware)

Too bad it breaks dedicated servers.  I would let you know if ULX worked, but my dedicated server wants to run Day of Defeat now after the update.

The current version of ULX will not work (or at least not the way it should), but we have been testing with the beta on the side and have a version which was working last we tested. Once we get a chance to make sure it's working in the release of the update we'll get it out.

Well the entire game is broken now.  Servers don't work, or at least show up on the server list, random crashes, etc...

I may have posted in the wrong section, but i posted a topic on how to get dedicated servers working again in the general help and support section.

Considering I don't see a single dedicated server running, or any multiple servers for that matter, this might be a question best left to valve... there is a difference between getting an admin mod working on a server, and getting the actual server code to fire up.

You need to use the TeamFortress 2 source server binaries to make the servers start. (use the steam dedicated server, and download the binaries there, then copy them over to your srcds directory(overwriting any files there), then it should work).

Atleast for now that's the only fix I've come across.
