Hey guys, just a little note, with the latest revision, (17) there's an error in URestrict_cl.lua. If you are getting a timer error everytime you open up URestrict, then the cause is line 109, it seems that they accidentally placed parentheses on the function when they are not needed, therefore confusing the timer. Instead of "timer.Simple(0.5, URestrict())" it should be "timer.Simple(0.5, URestrict)

Hope that helped anyone :)

One more thing...

It seems that when I add too many tool restrictions to the restrictions list, when I add another it says I've added it, and it's blocked, but the button won't appear in the restrictions menu. Also, when I add an extra one once I reach "the limit" it spams

Warning: Unhandled usermessage ''
Warning: Unhandled usermessage ''
Warning: Unhandled usermessage ''
Warning: Unhandled usermessage ''

in the console, and it spams it again if I close and re-open the URestrict menu. After a little while, I checked the menu again, and the tool I had tried to add was there now, and I checked the console and it didn't spam me with the usermessage stuff (I reopened the menu around 5 times just to make sure it was fixed  :D). Then I tried adding another, and it did the exact same thing. Do you think possibly a pre-load could fix this issue?

Also, when I installed URestrict it basically blocked me from ALL of my ULX commands (even motd and help!). But for some reason, It allows me to edit URestrict and still says I am an admin so could there possibly be a conflict between ULX and URestrict?

Please answer ASAP
Much appreciated,

Cheif Tiger

Latest URestrict SVN is 17. tgp might be thinking ULib/ULX
As for the errors occurring, I've attempted to get the team to respond to email, but apparently school has them all busy right now.

Oh, never mind then :P

But what does the team think about amping up the GUI?

I was actually able to amp up the GUI myself

Basically, I just went into the lua code for the derma frames and panels and such, and inserted the if statement that the MOTD uses in ulx so that it resizes according to screen resolution. I only did Y coordinates though so as to keep the buttons neat in their categories.

In the end, it was epic and worked, except for the fact that I couldnt add alot of tool restrictions :/

I guess I basically want a little more functionality though, like user management and per prop banning, etc.

I loved this tool, but every time I start Gmod, it says "Timer Error: attempt to call a nil value". It also says it again twice every time I open the URestrict menu. Anyone have a solution?

Ryno-Saurus, while Jay has been busy, another community member may have found the solution.

Thanks for the lightning fast reply. But can you really put it like this person said? That doesn't look right to me. I don't know, you probably know much more about Lua code than me.  ;) So you tell me. lol

Absolutely.
Lua only requires the () when creating the function, or when passing variables to it.
Though I'm not able to test it for you, the fix he suggests looks like it should work.

I don't know. "It doesn't work" isn't much to go on.
Make sure your groups are being seen by ULib.
If usuing ULX, do a "ulx who" in console while someone in the custom group is connected.
If ulx who shows them as part of that group, make sure the case of the group is exactly the same.
Jay's been away a while, but he messaged he might have more time soon in another post.
Perhaps if you give more detail he, or we, could help.
