MOTD not working

hi all
i coded my motd and i put it in the folder "addons/ulx" but when i connect to my server it dosnt show up.
and when i type "!motd" it shows a different MOTD.
please help on what i have to do.

if u want to test my server the ip is: 83.170.117.5:27018
it is a spacebuild server

What version of ULX (release v# or latest SVN?)
What did you name the file?
It's been required to be "ulx_motd.txt" since ULX v3.4
Also, not positive about this one, try placing your ulx_motd.txt into your server gmod root folder.
/gmod/here
instead of /gmod/addons/ulx

The version that is on the server is v3.1 because i was having problems with v3.4

Garry breaks his API so often I'd be surprised if 3.1 works at all anymore.

motd.txt goes in gmod root. (Think that's it in 3.31)
ulx showMotd must be set to 1 (think it's that by default if you've never edited your ulx server.ini)
If you have edited ulx server.ini, make sure it's edited version resides in gmod/cfg

I believe Gmod now has a motd convar. I don't know what it is. It must be enabled too I'm pretty sure.

Also... why 3.31?
If you have problems with a new version... you really should ask for help.
New versions often include fixes to things Garry has broken, or fixes to known security risks.
Other than a ban file or user file issue when trying to work with players with \\ in thier names, 3.4 is solid.

ok i am running v3.4 now and when i put the ulx_motd.txt in the gmodroot folder and i type !motd ingame it dosnt work.

Does it show anything at all? Or just the default?
As for showing when you connect to your server, is your server.ini in gmod/cfg configured to show the motd?

Megiddo, our readme file isn't clear.. for 3.4...where does ulx_motd.txt go?
