ULX/XGUI not working whatsoever
« on: December 21, 2010, 03:12:56 PM »
Nothing happens when I type in the commands

Doesn't matter what I do, I can't get the menus to come up. I'm added as a superadmin. Condump attached

Is there any reason you have NewAdmin installed? I'm willing to take a bet that having more than one admin mods installed could be causing issues. Plus I think NewAdmin may be horribly outdated.. don't quote me on that though.

Also, where did you get your download for ULib/ULX? For the best experience (and for XGUI to work properly), you should make sure that you downloaded the latest SVN versions from here: http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,3092.0.html

Ah, are you running a DarkRP server? I believe NewAdmin is now integrated with it, so.. I'm not sure what to say about that.

And while you did get the latest RELEASE version of ULX/ULib, it's pretty outdated compared to the SVN version we've been updating. You should remove the release version of ULX/ULib and download the more recent SVN versions from here: http://forums.ulyssesmod.net/index.php/topic,3092.0.html

Ok thanks downloading now. And FINALLY! I found out I had NewAdmin on my client (facepalming myself for that one), deleted it and finally get the ULX menu. And no just sandbox mode.

I still cant get XGUI to work though

lol, it *should* work once the SVN version is installed properly. If not, then post another condump to see if there are any errors

I did everything above, and it still doesn't work.
I type it in console, in chat, and nothing comes up.

I am an admin on a TTT server and I am the one manipulating its files.
I installed XGUI in every possible way, and I don't have anything except ULX installed.
It STILL doesn't work.

All of the XGUI files are in addons/xgui/, and I still don't know what to do.

Please replay as soon as possible.

Are you getting any errors in your server console?

What happens when you type "lua_run_cl print( ulx.getVersion() )" in your client console?

except ULX installed.
SVN ULX requires SVN of ULib.
XGUI requires SVN of both.

Does ULX work for you, without XGUI?
"ulx help" should show you many commands if you've added yourself as superadmin using the typical Gmod users file referenced on this forum, the Gmod Wiki, our text file, and several hundred other Gmod help sites. "ulx who" will show you as superadmin (again, if you added yourself correctly)
If it's not loading and you have it installed properly, an error will be occuring on the server somewhere (at startup, player join, or attempted command run)

How exactly can I get the SVN for ULX?
I downloaded the latest version of ULib and ULX from the "download" tab on this website.

Then, I download the latest version of XGUI off of the XGUI release post, and installed it how he told me. It still doesn't work.

Click on the "SVN Stuff" subforum, then read the stickies.
