ULX & XGUI
« on: January 11, 2011, 10:48:31 AM »
Hi,
I am having trouble getting XGui to work. I have installed the latest versions of ULX(3.30) and Ulib. First of all it's not clear where I am supposed to install XGUI.

Reading others people's posts I have tried placing just the "xgui" folder in the addons folder, this seems to have made a slight difference i.e when I type xgui it shows in the drop down in console, but nothing works. I cannot open the Menu. I've also tried placing the entire "SticklyMan-xgui-417c848" folder in addons.

I do not have any other admin mods installed, this is a fresh server. I am set as superadmin in ULX and am able to perform superadmin commands.

I'm sure I've missed somthing really silly. Or have I installed it incorrectly? Where exactly do I install the files within "SticklyMan-xgui-417c848" folder.

Firstly, XGUI only works with the latest SVN versions of ULX and ULib, so if you got ULX and ULib from our downloads page, then you should replace them with the version from here:

Secondly, you're correct in placing the entire "SticklyMan-xgui-417c848" folder in your addons -- When you download it from github, it generates the folder name based on the revision, so you can go ahead and rename that folder to "xgui" instead if you wish.

Ah, ok.

Just one quick question, might sound really "noob". But how do I download the files from the links. It just opens a tree of files and folders in IE.

OK, I've installed TortoiseSVN and I'm at the checkout process and I keep getting the following errors:

Checkout from http://ulyssesmod.net/ulx/trunk, revision HEAD, Fully recursive, Externals included
Server sent unexpected return value (400 Bad Request) in response to OPTIONS
request for 'http://ulyssesmod.net/ulx/trunk'

Are you running the latest TortoiseSVN? If so, try deleting your ulx and ulib folders, then recreate them and try to checkout again. If not, update.

Thanks, deleting the folders and re creating them worked.

Also, ULX is now working with menus. Thanks for your help.

Just one more quick question, does ULX have anti prop spam? If not, which one should I use because I can only find a few and they don't look very good.

It doesn't and I'm not familiar with anti prop spam systems. Though not technically an anti prop spam system, you might want to check out UPPL (use search at forum index).
